Part Time Counsellor Training Courses in Emotional Release Counselling and Transpersonal Studies

These courses meet the training standards prescribed by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
They are also approved by the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

Levels 1,2 & 3 each consists of 550 hours over 49 days, during one year.
Training workshops are held at weekends, long weekends, making use of public holidays, and part of school holidays.

During each course, a minimum of 60 hours study time is required. This will include journalling, reading and written work.
Accommodation is provided during these workshops at no extra cost for those who do not live locally.

Expanding Your Personal Potential Program (6 mths)
Intoductory Course in Transpersonal and Emotional Release Counselling

The focus of this 22 day course is to use a range of Innovative techniques which will bring about lasting effects and lead to:

Self empowerment
A happier and more fulfilled life
Creating a vision for your own life
Improved self image and increased self confidence
More rewarding relationships
An understanding of counselling skills

Those who complete this course are eligible to enrol in our counsellor training course if they wish

Level 1 - Training in Emotional Release Counselling and Transpersonal Studies (1 year)

The basics of TERC methods within the field of counselling - learn about the counselling process and ways to work with the body, body memories, emotions and creative expression.

Theory and principles of Transpersonal & Emotional Release Counselling
Experiencing the practice of TER counselling
Basic counselling skills and processes (including emotional release, shadow / projection)
The practice of modalities particular to TERC:
Body focus work; Sandplay therapy and Symbol work
Dreamwork; Voice Dialogue; Journal Writing
Bioenergetics, energy & movement work, dance
Specific topics
The practice of Holotropic Breathwork TM
Perinatal & childhood imprints and their impact on adult life
Spirituality and consciousness 1; Family of origin relationships

Level 2 - Advanced Training in Emotional Release Counselling and Transpersonal Studies (1 year)

Professional Practice I - expanding your capacity for self-responsibility for your inner work and your experience of TER counselling personally and professionally.

Theory of counselling, the counselling relationship, transference; Ethics of Caring.
Advanced practice of TERC modalities (see Yr 1 for these)
Field experience of TERC (includes clinical practice of TERC modalities and clinical supervision)
Specific issues in the practice of counselling:
Addictions, spiritual significance of addictions
Death, dying, grief and suicide; anger, depression, anxiety
Spirituality and consciousness II (includes spiritual emergence / emergency)
Relationships - sexuality, sensuality and intimacy
Perinatal imprints/body memories and the impact on consciousness

Level 1 & 2 - Personal Benefits - Achieving & empowering your personal potential

In these courses you will be supported in:-

Developing skills to enhance your effectiveness in life
Deepening self awareness
Understanding the dynamics of relationships & improving your interpersonal skills
Identifying what inhibits the expression of your personal potential
Recognising fears that stop you living freely, being all that you can be, expressing yourself fully
Learning the very best counselling skills

Level 3 - Extended Specialised Training (1 year)

Professional Practice II - Advanced Practitioner Skills

Ethical practice; Intensive clinical practice and clinical supervision
Counselling and the law.
Creative application of TERC modalities
Field experience of TERC (includes clinical practice of TERC modalities, clinical supervision and group facilitation)
Understanding academic literature & research methods
Specific areas of study in the practice of counselling:
Relationship counselling; group leadership; spiritual practice;
An independent study.

Level 3 - Personal Benefits - Facilitating others in reaching their potential

In this course you will explore and experience:-

The art on mentoring
Leadership
Group facilitation
Professional expansion
Life process skills
Creative expression
Specialised counselling skills

Requirements for enrolment in the courses

A personal interview with a staff person prior to the course is required.

If possible it is highly desirable to have some experience with breathwork prior to commencing the Expanding Your Personal Potential Program.
Experience with some of the other emotional release processes is also an advantage. (The more the better.)

Expanding your Personal Potential is a pre-requisite for enrolling in Level 1 training.

Closing date for enrolments in the Expanding Your Personal Potential Program is 28 May 2008.

Expanding Your Personal Potential Program: $2225 including $500 deposit

Level 1 Course: $5100

Level 2 Course: $5100

Fees may be paid in full at the commencement, in 6 monthly instalments or at each training workshop.

Accommodation

Dormitory style accommodation is provided during Training Workshops at no extra charge.

Sandplay and Symbol Work

This 5 day course of sandplay studies combines Jungian, Gestalt and other strategies to go deeply into the unconsciousness. Sandplay may be tackled lightly, seriously, therapeutically, alone or in a group with a co-journeyer or facilitator. The course is suitable for professionals, teachers, parents and others and is especially recommended for those working with children and adults in counselling, therapeutic or teaching capacities and for those interested in their own personal growth. The week includes theoretical and experiential work with sandplay and learning to facilitate others.

Bring: notebook, biro, artpad, crayons, loose comfortable clothing, sheets/towels/doona if sleeping here
Date: July 28 - Aug 1, 2008.
Times: 9 - 5:30 daily finishing Fri 4pm. (Rego 8:30am Mon)
Fees: (Inc GST)

$960 (residential all inclusive - meals & dormitory style accommodation)

$850 (non-residential - includes lunch)

Deposit of $50 to register. Full payment by 1st July, 2008.
If cancelled after this date, an administration fee of $50 will apply. If cancelled after 14 July, 2008, there will be no refund of fees.
